sweet memory doodles

sometimes remembering through doodles can be so sweet.
i was 8.  double pneumonia and in the hospital for a week. our uncle Harry Damato and his wonderful wife, Catherine, brought this puzzle gift that i just treasured. so delighted with all the colors that made up our United States!
our Uncle Harry is in heaven now, but when i remember this gift i am again grateful for him and his big heart, his humor, and his loving soul.
just shared this memory with Catherine recently, and she (90+) told me she remembers when they bought that puzzle for me, and how she was trying to find just the right gift for a second-grader.  =)
    it was Perfect.

Thank you both, so much, Cindy and Lois!
that memory just wouldn't let go, and neither would the doodle that just had to be. Awesome how some little kind gestures just never leave us.

That's a beautiful memory. I had a colorful puzzle map of the States, too, but it wasn't as special as yours. So glad you're capturing these memories.
